Who is Clyde Moop?

The name Clyde Moop came to Alex as a teenager, years later he adopted a black puppy who he bestowed with the name. Clyde became a beloved public figure as Alex went on to establish Scrummage University and ultimately Clyde Realty. With Clyde as his inspiration Alex has gathered notable Detroit creatives to build on Clyde's legacy - this mobile Clyde is the largest and most recent manifestation of the Clyde Moop spirit that lives in all of us.

What are we doing & where are we going?

We are taking the Clyde sculpture from it's home in Detroit, MI to our opening at MAD Arts in Ft Lauderdale, FL to raise money for All About Animals.

Who are we?

We are the Clyde Moop Assembly Crew, a team of artists from Detroit, MI.

Dragon Preserves is an artist, designer and fabricator residency program that fosters collaboration across disciplines while promoting Detroit’s unique creative industrialism globally.

What is All About Animals?

All About Animals Rescue is a Michigan nonprofit that works to reduce pet overpopulation and make veterinary care accessible for families in need, especially in Detroit.

Founded in 2005, the organization provides low-cost spay and neuter services, vaccinations, basic wellness care, and humane programs for community cats. They also place homeless pets through foster and adoption efforts and run outreach programs that help pet owners with transportation and other barriers to care.

Their goal is to keep pets healthy, prevent unwanted litters, ease pressure on shelters, and support a more humane community.

Giant Clyde: A Celebration, a Journey, and a Cause

On December 13th, we gather for a special event dedicated not only to celebrating Giant Clyde’s journey, but also to raising funds for All About Animals Rescue – Detroit.

This event will also serve as a content and concept showcase for Dragon Preserves.

We’ll be documenting Giant Clyde’s travel from Detroit to MAD Arts using cameras, drones, and other tools. This footage will become part of the experience on December 13th, illustrating how storytelling, art, and movement can merge to inspire engagement and impact.

Who is Clyde Moop?

Initially inspired as an eccentric tribute to Alex’s beloved dog Clyde Moop, the statue project has evolved into a cross-country art odyssey connecting Detroit creatives and makers to an international audience.

Manifesting Detroit’s love for the fearless creative spirit in Clyde Moop’s eternal image, Clyde is a symbol of expression that represents the new generation of American innovators. Our goal is to inspire curiosity and joy.
